Keiko Nakazawa Origamic Architect

"Bring my spirit into the origamic architecture and cards"

Ms.Nakazawa has been working on the origamic architectural design since 1983.She had over 23 exhibitions in various areas in Japan as well as writing books of origamic architecture "Birds and Flowers", "Four seasons", "Trip to Nara", "Trip to Kyoto", and "Greeting Cards". Her "Pop Art Paper CraftÓ books are also popular among a wide range of age groups for her charming work of art.

She as an artist who also enjoys sharing her techniques with students at well known schools in Japan. ÒStudents starts from selecting the theme, then they make their own drawings and produce their own pieces with many trials and errors. When the projects come out perfectly, the dimensional card makes them think that their intellectual creativity became more abundant. The students in the class all enjoy having ideas for their own work of art that they want to keep it for themselves, but they also know that these works of art will express their thoughts to their recipients.Ó

I am very honored to have this exhibition and demonstrations in the United Stated, the home of greeting cards, to show this hand crafted origamic architectural design. It means a lot to me to demonstrate this hand made production of art work while high technical and digital machines and tools are leading the society today. I believe that it is important to continue the human touch somewhere in our lives to feel the warmth of the spirit within the art work.
